im 15, female and my most recent time was 44 seconds for a 50m freestyle swim. l dont wanna enter if im going to come last. should l bother going in?

do not worry about coming in last or not. there is different heats that people with different times go in, and even if you are entered with people that are faster than you, it will make you go faster so you will most likely drop time. entering in the race will help you know where you need to improve, so after the race talk to your coach about technique and what you could do to improve. good luck :)

l think you should join. how else would you get faster. so what if your not first now you will do better. l used to do 40sec for 50m free but now l do like 34sec. you just need to practice and try hard. and not have a negative atittude.

Err yeah, l just went to SPC (our championships) and there was this one girl who got a 44 in that event, and she was last..trust me, some people get between 27-24 seconds. that event is really competetive

go for it thats how u can improve your time by swimming with people who are faster then you. just push yourself as hard as you can (while keeping good form) youll benefit from it.

ehh dont worry about it. its all about improving yourself. i'd still compete in it, maybe you will drop some time :) l got a 36 in the 50m free and that was considered a bad time, so if your 15 you will probably drop some time :]
