l keep getting problems and find l have no energy to swim sometimes, l think l eat fine and get pplenty of sleep, l swim about a mile 5 times a week and was wondering how many times a week l should swim or how l can find that energy to make me enjoy it again.

if you do not enjoy it or find yourself getting tired of it take a break for a few days. l swim about 5000-8000 yards 4 or 5 days a week but during my week ends off l find myself wanting to get back in the water to burn off those extra calories. but keep in mind the more days you take off the harder it is to get back into shape. missing one day of short course is like missing 2 practices and 3 practices in a long course pool!

l am a competitive swimmer and l have practices 6 days a week. If you want to be more serious about it my cousin joined a masters program. So, you get the same feel of being on a team and knowing that you made the commitment of making practices.
