l am a guy and l used to wear speedos when l was in the high school swimming team in Asia. l know that in the US, people are kinda anti-speedo, but as a swimmer (and now l am trying to be in my college swimming team) l just do not feel that it is right to wear board shorts to swim (especially as a professional swimmer). What do l have to do?

No serious swimmer in the US wears board shorts. However, most swimmers do not wear a speedo in practice either. The most common suit to wear is a square legged drag suit, with a speedo underneath. My personal favorite is the TYR brand, something like this: http://swimoutlet.com/product_p/2848.htm
Sometimes people wear Jammers at practice, but that is usually high school boys who are not very comfortable with their bodies.

try using those suits that go from your waist to your ankles.
Its what Michael Phelps used.

l wear speedos at the beach as well as the pool. They are much more comfortable to me.

l personally use a Jammer (a suit that is relatively tight and goes down to your knees) also if you want you can use a drag-suit as well

when in a competition and you are a serious or professional swimmer, l would buy a ''fast skin'' suit which is a very tight suit that goes the length of your leg, and gives extremely little drag

yea l would probably wear a speedo..americans are not very anti-speedo.

guys usually wear a speedo with a drag suit over it. the drag suit makes it more boxy and shows less of the guys body that they might not want everyyone to see. some guys will wear a jammer instead. its like board shorts, but tighter like a speedo.
