Im 14 And in 8th grade. Im on a swim team and today is my first meet. the only thing im worried about is my breaststroke! l do the right hand moventments, but l just cant seem to get the kick, l can sit on the ground and do the motions then but when l get in the water, because of my 8 years in gymnastics, my feet wont flex when they are supposed to! and when l try my hardest and they do, l kick and l go NOWHERE no joke, and l have no idea what im doing wrong! Because l am kicking right ! But most the time my feet com out of the water! ahhh!! Please help me!

Keep working at it, sooner or later ur body will do what it is supposed to. But in the mean time, try using a kickboard to work on ur kick. It will help to see if u really r getting anywhere while u kick. But ur coach & other teammates should be able to critique you. Try slowing down when u kick too, work on dropping the knees (like you're sitting in a chair), kicking out to the side, & pushing down.hard. And do not go straight into the next kick, u need that little bit of streamline.

Make sure you are pointing your feet out and leading with your feet and not with your knees.

use a kickboard and do some other drills, like breastroke kick-kick-pull. ensure that you stretch properly before races and training to provide maximum mobility. keep training!!!! do not give up :). perseverance is the key.

l think you're thinking too much about the motion and not enough about the objective. Remember that you're not just pushing water with you feet but with your whole leg. Also, remember to glide. Try to do so for around two seconds each stroke.

Ask your coach for more tips.

l always think up out and snap.
always point your toes and really snap hard
and really used your whole body to kick sorta if that makes sense.like use your abs to push yourself forward.

bend your knees and raise your feet, whip them outwards and then in in an eggbeater motion. If you want, you can practice the same kick (in reverse) doing the elementary backstroke.
