yeah, it is from my old swim team swimsuit. Is a 38 a 36A, or 34B? You had to choose a suit from your bra size. And l need to know if it will fit.

the swimming suits are supposed to be the chest measurement. l would bet on a 38. the cup size is the difference from the bustline to the chest measurement; e.g., 1 in. is an a, 2 is a b, 3 is a c. the only problem is going from swimsuits to bras because a lot of swimsuits are fitted a size smaller to decrease the drag. so if you wore a 38, maybe 40 instead of 36, but you're kind of going about it backwards.

Your bra size has more information embedded in it than a swimsuit size. You do not have enough information from a swimsuit size to select a bra size.

Bra sizes r expressed by ''band size'' (the band the runs below ur breasts) & cup size (the letter). Measure ur chest below ur breasts to get ur band size, then measure ur chest at the fullest part of ur breasts. If the difference between the two numbers is 1 inch, u r an A. If the difference between the two measurements is 2 inches, u r a B, & so on.

Swimsuit sizing does not really take cup size into account. Personally, I've always gotten suits based on band size (the first measurement, not the second), & count on being squished upstairs. But that is because I've got relatively narrow hips.

If l understand ur question correctly, u r asking if u would be closer to a 36A or a 34B based on wearing a 38 swimsuit. 36A indicates 36 + 1 = 37 at widest. 34B indicates 34 + 2 = 36 inches at widest. Both of these r a little small compared to the swimsuit. 36B might be a better fit, & 38A might also be a possibility.
