l am in 8th grade doing into ninth in Sept.l wanna start on a club team in the fall and then do hs varsity in the winter.l am pretty well built, im a good runner & on the wrestling team now.So, what are the necessary steps l should take to get better to be good enough to swim with everyone else.Any particular workouts or drills or anything?
l will have access to a pool over the summer

l swim and on my team we do dry land its where we do sit ups crunches pushups suasides running but also l would say try swimming for like one day a week until u get really good then u can keep on swimming alot more l have been swimming for two years now l no not that much but im pretty good hope l helped email me if u need more help

Just go & find a swimming club & talk to the coach. You can ask them to give u a trial run so u can see how u go, & then maybe u could join if u like it.

If u do not want to go straight to a club, just go down to ur public pool a few times a week & get in a bit of practice before u approach someone. Do a few 100m fast with only like 10 seconds rest & try to keep up the same pace. the next week, try to go a few seconds faster. that will get ur endurance training up.

Overall, just start practicing or ask someone.. i'm sure they will help you. Keep up ur running & wrestling because that will help ur general fitness. Good luck!

Do u know all of the strokes already? If u do not try & ask some friends who swim to watch u & give u pointers. Otherwise, just try going to the pool & just running laps in the shallow end, or if you're a decent swimmer try swimming laps. Just by swimming for 15 minutes straight,will help u gain the muscle for swimming. Try going twice a week for two weeks, then go to three, & keep going to whatever u have time for. You use a lot of different muscles than when u r running or wrestling.
